Coming home: To celebrate its 50th-anniversary “golden jubilee,” the Oshkosh Normal School organized its first Homecoming in 1921. In addition to a sold-out football game and a dance, the event featured an estimated 600 alumni — representing at least 44 different graduating classes — who returned to Oshkosh for reunions. Two days later, many of the graduates, organized by class, participated in a procession around campus as they made their way to a formal jubilee program held in the school’s gymnasium.
